This is the Velvet Underground & Nico's classic, innovative, influential debut album from 1967. Lulling us into a false sense of security with the dreamy, gentle Lou Reed-sung "Sunday Morning", the album then jumps gears for the rock'n'roll of "I'm Waiting For The Man" powered by Mo Tucker's pounding drumming.
The roller-coaster climbs the slope again with the Nico-sung acoustic gem "Femme Fatale", before plunging down into the depths of "Venus In Furs", which features the stark violin work of John Cale. "Run Run Run" and "All Tomorrows Parties" end side one, while side two features "Heroin", "There She Goes Again", "I'll Be Your Mirror", Bob Dylan on acid "The Black Angel's death Song" and the free-form freak out "European Son". It's just one of those must-have LPs for your collection!
