2019 (half-way) Albums of the Year

We have crossed the half-way point. This is your 2019 'biannual annual' if you like.

So here we are, July 2nd, the 183rd day of the year. We have enjoyed 182 days of new music, we have another 182 to come and below we've highlighted some of the albums that we have really enjoyed stocking at Drift so far this year.

It's been an amazing start, so many killer records already. Below is an alphabetical list pulled together by Graeme, Jenny, Lee, Leo, Sarah and Rupert.

Dinked Editions

We have been working super hard this year to hand pick some amazing releases as part of our Dinked collective of shops. Being a small part of these releases has made us very attached, but outside of our limited editions, there have been some killer albums this year alone from Cate Le Bon, Kevin Morby, Rozi Plain, Snapped Ankles, Black Peaches, Black Mountain, Sebadoh, Homeshake, TOY and You Tell Me, with Jesca Hoop and BABii landing this Friday and Tychofollowing next Friday.

Sea Change

In May we celebrated our fourth edition of Sea Change and invited down some remarkable talents such as; Death And Vanilla, Doomsquad, Du Blonde, Flamingods, Laurence Pike, Maps, Pip Blom, Rozi Plain, The Comet Is Coming, Matthew Shaw, Will Burns and Hannah Peel, You Tell Me and Black Midi (who we are listening to right now, a quite magnificent album that is too).

April's Record of the Month, our ninth Dinked Edition and one of our Sea Change live highlights... W.H. Lung really have blown us away with their utterly thrilling debut Incidental Music. Will it end up being our No1. album of the entire year? Who knows, but it's going to have to be a pretty amazing arrival to knock them off that perch.... Exciting stuff.

So that was our half-way point, what have you most cherished this year?
