Last day in May and it's doubtless been the biggest, busiest and most fun in Drift's history.

Hello, Friends.

We missed you last week... we tend to miss about one newsletter per year once Sea Changekicks in, irony being it was a HUGE week of releases. Last week we had THREE Dinked releases hitting the racks, with SebadohBlack Mountain and Cate Le Bon. We also had massive new releases from Amyl and The Sniffers, Earth, Petrol Girls and one of our all-time favourites Flying Lotus. We'll get a full set of notes written up and on the blog in the next week or so.

On the topic of Dinked, we announced this week No.18 from B Boys with Dudu. We sold out, but we're going to add a last few copies... now!!

Lee "Scratch" Perry - Rainford

Record of the Week is the scintillating debut LP - Boat - from Pip Blom. We had them celebrate this glimmering pop beauty with us last weekend at Sea Change (thats them above, photographed backstage by our Aubrey Simpson). Can't rate it highly enough, moments of sunshine and melancholy all with such an addictive jangle. Excellent and joyous.

Another Sea Change connection as Lee "Scratch" Perry releases Rainford on On-U Sound. The mighty upsetter returns with nine brand new tracks recorded with longtime friend and collaborator Adrian Sherwood at the controls. It's not a wild claim that this is one of the best LP's he's ever made and the production is proper mighty stuff.

+ We have very limited edition gold vinyl copies if you're quick.

Further substantiating Perth as the psych capital of the world, we have Psychedelic Porn Crumpets throw down the gauntlet today with And Now For The Whatchamacallit. Glorious fun.

+ Indie only edition LP is on yellow/purple/blue Splatter vinyl (about to sell out)

Doves

Loads more today that we encourage you to all go and have a good listen too, with excellent new LP's from Sinkane, Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith, The Gotobeds, Gnoomes, Eluviumand Richard Hawley. Lots of limited pressings too so don't snooze.

Reissue wise we have The La's BBC In Session with some pretty special moments, Looks pretty too (gatefold sleeve, limited, numbered and Transparent Green).

Ian Broudie’s beautiful solo debut Tales Told becomes available for the first time ever on vinyl and vinyl replica CD.

Lastly today, a reissue set that is 100% the most requested we've had in the shop over the last five/ten years. DovesLost Souls, The Last Broadcast and Some Cities all get lush looking colour pressings. One of the finest of our lifetime and it's been pretty euphoric coming down hard off last weekends activities with these glorious old friends on the stereo.

Normal service will resume next week with more Dinked news and some other town based things that we'll be doing at Drift. It was a joy to see so many of you during Sea Change and we'll - as promised - be putting some signed records online this week and also some of our beautiful screen prints from the UKPA take over.
