M(h)aol’s Something Soft is a confrontational, cathartic album that redefines its title with razor-sharp irony. The Irish trio—Constance Keane, Jamie Hyland, and Sean Nolan—channel rage and resilience into taut, percussive post-punk, addressing misogyny, grief, consumerism, and animal welfare through a distinctly feminist lens. Keane’s vocals often feel inseparable from her drumming, a physical manifestation of the album’s inner tension.

Their second full-length, Something Soft builds on the acclaim of Attachment Styles, bringing tighter songwriting and more nuanced production, recorded at Dublin’s Ailfionn Studio with additional contributions from Sarah Deegan.
