Give us three hours and we’ll convince you that Stereolab are one of the most influential, inventive and straight up cool bands around...
As part of this week’s Best New Reissues, we talked about Stereolab and the 2025 double vinyl reissue of their albums; Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements (1993), Mars Audiac Quintet (1994), Emperor Tomato Ketchup (1996), Dots And Loops (1997), Cobra And Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night (1999), Sound-Dust (2001) and Margerine Eclipse (2004).
As promised, we have put together a little primer of essential cuts and staff favourites from said albums. We also had to include the odd extra cut (specifically 'Lo Boob Oscillator') to prompt you off on your own paths to discover this masterful discography. On that topic, the band have actually put together a complete and chronological playlist (365 tracks, 26+ hours) if you want to go even deeper here.
Remastered from the original tapes at Calyx in Berlin, these new editions sound fantastic. Just hit play below and thank us later!
