We know you live it when we say it, but BOY WHAT A WEEK!
Our Record of the Week is Comfort To Me, the brash, rocking and totally thrilling new LP from Amyl & The Sniffers. In a period of time where being known as a killer live band isn't practically that much help, they've done a remarkable job of capturing the anarchic energy and also their dead-pan humour on disc. It’s jacked up, it’s really good fun. We love it.

Low reunite with producer BJ Burton for the third time on HEY WHAT and it's another bold step into sonic pastures new. The bands evolution is subtle but never resting and this latest outing has the crackle and hiss of the last two records and the layers of those slowcore classics that preceded them. They're one of the very finest bands we have and it's thrilling stuff watching them just keep finding new versions of themselves. Very highly recommended, watch this one grow!

Hot on the heels of releasing a staggering collaboration with the legendary Lonnie Holley, Matthew E. White releases his long-awaited solo album, K Bay. As you'd expect, the master producer delivers an absolute sonic treat. Taking reference and inspiration from any number of genres, it's got drive and tons of experimentalism. Great stuff.

One of our most favourites - Sarah Davachi - releases her delicious new Antiphonals LP this week on her own Late Music label. Beautiful textures that slowly ebb and flow, this really is exquisitely sedate music. Very highly recommended.

I’ve Been Trying To Tell You is the very welcome return of the much-loved trio Saint Etienne. Their tenth studio album is accompanied by a specially-made film directed by acclaimed fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan and sleeve notes from socialist writer Owen Hatherley. A lush space between modern and nostalgic.

Is It Light Where You Are is the debut album from Art School Girlfriend, the moniker of Welsh producer, multi-instrumental musician and songwriter Polly Mackey. Big atmospheric synths, this really has something going on.
Peter Sagar returns as Homeshake for his fifth solo LP, Under The Weather. Real-nice melancholic vibes, dark in tone with little ambient flashes.

SHILOH: Lost for Words is the debut from East London rapper and producer John Glacier. FYI, John Glacier says she chose her stage name because she's "icy". It's got a real mix tape vibe, flashing between atmospheric production and driving lyricism. Produced in partnership with Vegyn, it's quite a sonic treat.

The Liminanas and French techno pioneer Laurent Garnier collaborate on the super-fun De Pelicula. Bubbling with energy and weird vibes, this.
Good little catchup this week too, with some bits we've been waiting on now in the building. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's Butterfly 3000 is in stock on wax, a lucky dip between Blue, Red or Yellow. We took a photo of a Blue one, but they are random so don't get confused or lairy with us. Modest Mouse's The Golden Casket and Shannon and the Clams' Year Of The Spider (Midnight Wine colour wax) are both in the building on vinyl, as is the 140g pressing of the exquisite Promises from (the Mercury Nominated) Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra.
The flipside of the arrivals are the bits running late. Due shortly; The Manic Street Preachers return with The Ultra Vivid Lament, enjoyed the singles a lot and we have a limited indie shop LP with a bonus 7". The Bevis Frond release the new Little Eden LP on Fire, The Vaccines release the glimmering Back In Love City and 10 000 Russos release Superinertia on Fuzz Club.
We've got a great stack of Not-New releases coming out you this week too (we'll talk more about them tomorrow if you're interested), including The Reds, Pinks & Purples, Hayley Williams, Metallica, Elvis Costello and Spiritualized's all-time glorious Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space.
