Records of the Week

The Belair Lip Bombs, Karate, Kelly Finnigan, Porridge Radio, High Vis, Svaneborg Kardyb and W.H. Lung.

Brisk guitar jams, analogue soul, loud bits, quiet bits and loads of electronic hues too!

Third Man release Lush Life, the debut LP from Australian four-piece The Belair Lip Bombs. Some lush frenetic jangles, great drive and Maisie Everett’s vocals are really strong. It’s an album that's dead easy to fall for and is our Record of the Week.

+ Available on limited Pink vinyl.

Make It Fit is the first new music in pushing twenty years from iconic post-emo trio, Karate. As you’d expect, it’s quite the journey across nine winding and evolving tracks, with complex rhythms and loads of genre blurring. We are into this.

+ Available on Bleach The Scene Clear vinyl.

Contemporary soul man Kelly Finnigan releases his all new A Lover Was Born on Colemine Records. The Monophonics maestro really does sound amazing here, an album of luxurious soul music. An instant mood setter, this one is going to fly off the turntable.

We worked with Kelly on a Dinked Edition that sold out super fast, but we still have limited copies on exclusive Cyan colour vinyl.

Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me is the new LP from Porridge Radio and it is really good. The way Dana Margolin’s voice moves between a hushed and sedate whisper to a cracking yelp is really special stuff. Cathartic and explosive.

+ Available on exclusive SIGNED White colour vinyl.

Danish duo Svaneborg Kardyb (Nikolaj Svaneborg on keyboards and Jonas Kardyb on drums) release Superkilen this week on Gondwana Records. Some really lush tones and the rhythms are propulsive and looping to quite hypnotic effect.

+ Available on Black vinyl with a limited foiled sleeve.

Loud Londoners High Vis release their third LP - Guided Tour - on Dais Records and it is a scorcher. Still rooted in hardcore, but there are thirty years of guitar music influence across the tracks, with Madchester grooves, a bit of metal and psychedelic hues too. It’s coherent and vital stuff.

+ Available on exclusive Oriole colour vinyl with a signed print.

You’re Only Young Once But You Can Be Stupid Forever is the gloopy return of Bogdan Raczynski and we already love it. Short and inventive sonics and such great boinks throughout. Trippy.
Porridge Radio
Confidence Man are absolutely high on confidence with their 3AM (LA LA LA). Bangers and humour and fun. We have a limited Glow In The Dark vinyl pressing too, which is also fun and funny!

Also this week; Moshi Moshi release Wah!!! from C-pop duo Chinese American Bear. Irish six-piece Silverbacks return with Easy Being A Winner and it is a riot. Cool World is heavy heavy stuff from Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile. Oliver Coates releases Throb, Shiver, Arrow of Time on RVNG INTL and it is one hell of a listen. Kelly Lee Owens returns with the floating and big-pop Dream State.

Lastly, Every Inch of Earth Pulsates is the third LP from W. H. Lung, our October Record of the Month. You can read more about that and Record of the Month Club here. We have some limited Dinked Edition copies online now.
