Record of the Week is one of the year's first releases to really get us hooked. Proper going back and listening back to back hooked.

Not Even Happiness is the second 'studio' album from Julie Byrne, all recorded at her childhood home in upstate New York. It is beautifully measured, no tricks, just a lot of space around her vocals. That's all you need when you can sing like this. It's sad and pretty mournful, but it is honestly lush.

Really hoping to see her live at some point soon.
