Sven Wunder’s Daybreak is a sweeping and immersive journey, continuing the composer’s signature fusion of cinematic pop, jazz, and orchestral color. As his fifth full-length release, it charts a vivid arc from first light to nightfall, rich with dynamic textures and evocative detail. Elaborate arrangements for flute, brass, percussion, and strings glide over a steady rhythm section, delivering a sound both lush and refined.

Wunder—Swedish musician Daniel Danell—has developed a distinctive voice across a string of acclaimed releases, blending soul, psychedelia, and easy listening with the elegance of classic soundtrack and library music. Daybreak deepens this trajectory, with the Stockholm Studio Orchestra conducted by Erik Arvinder lending scale to Danell’s compositions, alongside contributions from close collaborators and legendary drummer Malcolm Catto.
