Retrospective Review of August

We say it every month, but it really has been another fine collection of releases. The last two 'new release Mondays' in August alone had 40+ releases that we just couldn't do without… the fabled 'Drift End of Year Poll' is going to be harder than ever to count up this year.

One title that's sure to make the cut is August's record of the month, the sublime "Solo Piano II" from Chilly Gonzales. It really does have everything, it's serene and ornate on a casual listen, but there is so much more bubbling away under the surface and the compositions really do take you away with every listen.

Chilly is a bit of a hero at Drift and for any of you Twitter users, besides following @driftrecordshop, we highly recommend following @chillygonzales - a funny guy!
