The great plains of the US meet the great disappointments of the UK in the debut album from The Barn-stormer.

'The Attractions Of Youth' marks the debut album for Anglo-American troubadour Barns Courtney.

The 14 track blues / folk-tinged album channels the spirit of 1970’s Americana in full force and features singles; Glitter and Gold, Fire as well as the enchanting new single Golden Dandelions.

Barns Courtney (real name Grain-Silos Yardie) said “I explore a little outside of the blues-driven sound of ‘Fire’ and ‘Glitter & Gold’. of course there are a few more tunes in that vein but there’s also some beck influence, a Sergeant Pepper’s inspired ballad, and a dirty, simplified Prince-sounding track called ‘Never Let You Down’”.

Recommended if you like Roo Panes, King Charles and Matthew and The Atlas.

Drift Recommends

Alongside a weekly playlist of new and old tracks (tune in via the news section), all of the Drift staff also contribute to a weekly 'Drift Recommends' playlist.

Updated every Friday, it's full of new tracks that we love, absolute bangers that have popped back into our heads and all sorts of other weird avenues. It is supposed to sound a little bit like that feeling of walking through the door at Drift.
