Description

Almost three years on from Build A Rocket, Boys! the band release The Take Off And Landing Of Everything. The Bury romantics' sixth album is a journey through the ups and downs of life - it's sombre and sparse, but not in the least bit sober. The Take Off and Landing of Everything was recorded in Real World Studios and at the band's facilities at Blueprint Studios, Salford. As with previous albums, the million selling The Seldom Seen Kid and platinum follow up Build a Rocket Boys! it was produced by the band's keyboardist Craig Potter.

The album features several guests including the Halle Orchestra ('Manchester's oldest band' as Guy affectionately calls them) with Pete McPhail, Tim Barber, Bob Marsh and Kat Curlett adding brass to selected tracks and tour mate and long term friend Jimi Goodwin of Doves adding backing vocals on New York Morning.

Drift Recommends

Alongside a weekly playlist of new and old tracks (tune in via the news section), all of the Drift staff also contribute to a weekly 'Drift Recommends' playlist.

Updated every Friday, it's full of new tracks that we love, absolute bangers that have popped back into our heads and all sorts of other weird avenues. It is supposed to sound a little bit like that feeling of walking through the door at Drift.
