Roger Eno & Brian Eno - Luminous
Los bros Enos are back, following their release of 'Mixing Colours' in March 2020, the Eno brothers’ debut Deutsche Grammophon album with Roger Eno at the forefront, 'Mixing Colours', caught the imagination of critics and listeners alike with its eighteen meditations on the slow, shifting nature of sound and time.
This is a collection of extra tracks from the 'Mixing Colours Expanded' release, with the new tracks on their own. Six new pieces along with the 'Pewter' track, previously issued only as a bonus track in Japan.
Again the evocative titles are colour-based – Moss, Violet, Manganese, Vermilion, Marble, Pewter and Malachite. And again, the pared-down beauty and meditative qualities of these new miniatures mean that every hearing is rewarded with fresh discoveries.
This 12" EP – 'Luminous' – containing all seven new tracks is now released. As with the original album, the artist Dom Theobald has supplied the original cover artwork, and to support indie retailers like yer old pal Drift, a special version of the EP on sun yellow coloured vinyl and with a different version of the cover artwork will also be available. Following this, a deluxe 2CD edition of the complete Mixing Colours Expanded will be released internationally on 23 October 2020.

Alongside a weekly playlist of new and old tracks (tune in via the news section), all of the Drift staff also contribute to a weekly 'Drift Recommends' playlist.
Updated every Friday, it's full of new tracks that we love, absolute bangers that have popped back into our heads and all sorts of other weird avenues. It is supposed to sound a little bit like that feeling of walking through the door at Drift.
