Swindle - No More Normal
A meeting ground for the vital frontiers of UK jazz, grime and hip hop featuring a killer all-star cast of MCs and instrumentalist. Spanning from lush, strings-laden soul to voicebox heavy p-funk, 'No More Normal’s list of collaborators includes Kojey Radical, Andrew Ashong, D Double E and plenty more besides. Swindle stakes out a common ground for his diverse roster of collaborators, setting a stage for some of the artists doing the most to energise the UK’s music in 2018.
Bridging the lines between grime, jazz and funk, the London-raised producer conjures his own musical world, where bass charged rap songs are bolstered by live horn sections. 'No More Normal' is a welcome chance to be invited inside.
It follows a spate of projects where Swindle has taken on the role of producer for other artists, including Mahalia and Kojey Radical’s single, 'Water', Joel Culpepper (whose Woman live session for Colors has clocked up 4M Youtube streams and counting), and working with D Double E, producing his long-awaited debut album.
He’s spent years staking roots in the underground, from early output on Butterz, to his 2013 debut full-length 'Long Live The Jazz', released on Mala’s Deep Medi label, to 2017’s Trilogy of Funk project.

Alongside a weekly playlist of new and old tracks (tune in via the news section), all of the Drift staff also contribute to a weekly 'Drift Recommends' playlist.
Updated every Friday, it's full of new tracks that we love, absolute bangers that have popped back into our heads and all sorts of other weird avenues. It is supposed to sound a little bit like that feeling of walking through the door at Drift.
