Young Prisms - Friends For Now [10th Year Anniversary]

Young Prisms emerged in the early 2000’s from the Bay Area of San Francisco out of the warehouse district by putting out various tapes, 7”s as well as a 12” EP on Mexican Summer. Soon after in 2010 Kanine Records met up with them and worked on two classic shoegaze albums with the band. These two albums were limitedly released on vinyl and quickly sold out to shoegaze fans. Now 10 Years later Kanine celebrate how great they were with two re-issues. New and old shoegaze fans will love these classic songs.

Like many artists before them, Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Girls, it is here in San Francisco that these five younglings that comprise the band, Young Prisms, Jason Hendardy, Jordan Silbert, Matt Allen, Stef Hodapp, and Gio Betteo. The band came together in a roach infested apt above a chinese restaurant in order to explore a true artist livelihood. leaving all of their academic institutions behind, the band started pumping out dark, driving rhythms overlaid with melodies that pulse and build and then break over you. it was here, out of this small dwelling, where they all shared a living, practicing, and recording space that the inspiration for their debut album bringing out comparisons to 90's favourites My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, Slowdive, and Deerhunter.
