A VG+ collection of new releases for your consideration.

Hello, Friends.

Kicking off this week's dispatch with four new Dinked Releases.

Fleuves de l'Âme is an absolutely stunning new project from Tunisian multi-instrumentalist Houieda Hedfi. Inspired by the textures of Tunisian music, it is a lush meeting of sound design and ornate orchestrations. It is produced with Olof Dreijer of The Knife and it really is one to check out.

Frankie Rose and Matthew Hord combine as the dark and atmospheric Fine PlaceThis New Heaven is their crystalline, full-length debut of nocturnal, electronic pop music. Such a stylish one, this.

Peripheral Figures is the new LP from Leeds-based trio, Peakes. Dreamy and euphoric electro-pop, with classic tones and inventive drives. We've been pumping this to get all the picking and packing done.

Stealing Sheep and the Radiophonic Workshop have combined forces to quite amazing effect on La Planète Sauvage, a re-imagined soundtrack to René Laloux’s celebrated 1973 sci-fi animation 'La Planète Sauvage (Fantastic Planet)'. All you lucky folks who copped the Dinked Edition can expect that to land shortly and we want to flag-up that it gets a full release in January.

Makaya McCraven Deciphering The Message

Deciphering The Message is the first new LP from Makaya McCraven in partnership with Blue Note. The Chicago-based drummer and producer has deep-dived into the Blue Note Records vaults to put a modern bounce on classics by Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, Dexter Gordon, Kenny Burrell, and Eddie Gale, among others. Such amazing energy to this one; flashes of new, flashes of old and it just flows. It's our Record of the Week and is highly recommended.

Mother is the second LP from rising soul voice Cleo Sol. My word, it's good; she has such allure. It's a fairly simple set up in terms of arrangement, but it just gives all the space that her rich voice deserves. You might recognise her rich tones from the SAULT albums and she is in a confident mode here too. Much like her debut, this one has knocked us sideways, check her out.

@0 is a new, 29-track project under the curation of Ninja Tune founders Coldcut. It features new recordings from an incredible roll-call of talents, including; Laraaji, Helena Hauff, Juliana Barwick, Sigur Rós, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Suzanne Ciani and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, among others. Some pretty serious ambience going on here.

Also this week;

Techno pioneer Chris Liebing returns on Mute with Another Day (double clear vinyl). David Grubbs and Ryley Walker collaborate on a set of duo performances with A Tap on the ShoulderFlying Dream 1 is the eleventh studio LP from Elbow (we have exclusive green vinyl copies). We have Porter Robinson's Nurture in the building, we know that loads of you have been patiently waiting on this one.

30 is Adele's major label debut. It has the big ballads as you'd expect, but it's got some different speeds to it too, well worth checking out. We have limited Crystal Clear vinyl copies.

Beach Fossils have put together a really wild set of piano ballads called The Other Side Of Life. CD en route, LP in a few weeks. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss have recombined forces on Raise The Roof (it's really good), but the exclusive LP has gone back a few weeks, so we'll talk more about it then.

A couple of excellent books landing with us today. Firstly, Lenny Kaye's Lightning Striking via White Rabbit Books, an insider's take on the evolution and enduring legacy of the music that rocked the twentieth century. We have some very limited collectors editions that are numbered, signed by Lenny and include CDs.

We also have Yo! The Early Days of Hip-Hop 1982-84, a new book published by Soul Jazz Books/Records that features stunning photographs documenting the rise of hip hop in the early 1980s, taken by French photographer Sophie Bramly. Such amazing vibes.

Really excellent not-new news tomorrow, including; Art Blakey, Leo Nocentelli, Horace Silver, Kelley Stoltz, Donald Byrd and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.
