Years in the making, A Tiger’s Tale is the debut LP from Leroi Conroy—Terry Cole, founder of Colemine Records. Steeped in golden age hip-hop, dusty funk, and imagined 60s and 70s film scores, the album plays like a lost soundtrack to a dark retelling of The Jungle Book. Lo-fi drums, horns, wah guitar, Hammond organ, and cinematic touches unravel across moody, sample-ready instrumentals. Built from sessions that began on a Tascam 388, it features contributions from Colemine regulars including Kelly Finnigan and Jimmy James, with Rob Houk’s drumming driving the pulse.
