Best New Reissues: Tyler The Creator, Dungen, M83, Frightened Rabbit, Butcher Boy and The Velvet Underground.

It’s a big old week in the record shop calendar, and we’re today here for the reissues.

Hello, Friends.

In the building, on the walls and spinning on the stereo is Tyler The Creator's CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. It debuted online last summer but this week marks its physical debut with a very handsome double vinyl pressing. It successfully draws in all of his previous directions and characters, really superb production. We do not have many of these, so do get involved.

You Had A Kind Face is an anthology of songs by the revered Glasgow band Butcher Boy between 2007 and 2017. It's released on Pete Paphides' very impressive Needle Mythology label who keep doing this really well. Bittersweet, melodic and quietly euphoric bangers, really excellent, this.

+ Whilst stocks last, we have some really nice postcard packs to give away with all orders.

A cracking 10th anniversary reissue of a decade-defining album this week, with M83's Hurry Up We're Dreaming back in press. Another limited one, but we held a few back and have some double Orange colour vinyl copies (with a new alternative cover) online, now!

As ever, full Drift crew crushing hard on Dungen this week, with a rare warehouse find of Tio Bitar. The band's fourth LP (released a few years before 4, their fifth) is all about the groove. Genuinely psychedelic, with mellow jams that truly sound neither modern, contemporary or retro. My word, do we ever love this band.

Fat Possum give a full re-release to Tamara Lindeman's 2014 What Am I Going To Do With Everything I Know EP as The Weather Station. Sits just before her breakout Loyalty LP and features the Cook brothers (Bon Iver, Hiss Golden Messenger, Megafaun et al...)

Kranky reissue Grouper's stunning 2014 Ruins album. It was made in Aljezur, Portugal in 2011 on a residency set up by Galeria Z’ dos Bois. Such a stunning record, pure magic in the whispers.

Ahead of this weekend's forthcoming Frightened Rabbit Record Shop Day exclusives, we also have a limited pressing of their excellent Pedestrian Verse album. Again, not too many of these about so do get involved.

As regular readers will remember, we absolutely went wild for Todd Haynes' The Velvet Underground documentary, it's pretty much perfect. The accompanying soundtrack is released this week and is, obviously, absolutely mint. Early mono tracks, live stuff, some amazing excerpts and other tracks from one of the most important bands ever to do it. A great jump off point for those new to them, a lush collection for those already drinking the Kool Aid!

Okay, speak to you soon!
