Record of the Week at Drift is Pale Horse Rider, the superb new solo LP from Wand main-man Cory Hanson. It has all of the smart and winding writing that you'd expect from the Wand connection, but with a more personal delivery via pastoral Americana. His subtlety really is a marvel, this excellent album and the damn-near perfect Wand discography really do highlight him as one of the best writers around. We love it!
After introducing the world to black midi, Black Country, New Road, Squid, Tiña and dozens more, it will come as no surprise to you lot at all that Speedy Wunderground's latest release is something to really rave about. Silk For The Starving is the debut EP from the Calder Valley's The Lounge Society. Raw and vital, but brilliantly produced. Confident and pounding, but full of neurotic energy. They really have such amazing and quite conflicting energy, this really is a hugely exciting debut.

Triple Dinked Edition news for you today.
Firstly, Francis Lung returns on Memphis Industries with his new LP, Miracle. It is our 102nd Dinked Edition and is a beautiful record of warm, analogue melancholia. Starting to get some excellent plays on the wireless now, he sure can write an ear-worm!
Devastations is Andrew Hung (of Fuck Buttons) first new solo material since his 2017 breakthrough debut Realisationship. The production is masterful, electronic-Motoriks that create epic soundscapes. Vocally he's also more present than ever before too, which sounds great. Euphoria.

Lastly, London psychedelic space-rockers The Oscillation have just this minute been announced as our 129th Dinked Edition with the new Untold Futures album. We're so excited about this one (it includes an exclusive extra album of alternative ambient reworks) and at just 500 copies it is not going to hang about.
Carnage is a new album by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, recorded over a period of weeks during lockdown.
Although the pair have composed & recorded many soundtracks together, and Ellis is a long-term member of The Bad Seeds, this is the first time they have released an entire album of songs as a duo. Minimal and graceful with some stark and shocking flashes of sound and texture that can be both quite stirring and quite threatening. We've had it on a few times this week and it sounds different every time, one to deep dive into again and again.
Peace Or Love is the first album in a right yonk from Norwegian duo Kings Of Convenience. Pretty dreamy stuff that drifts in and out of focus.
Also this week...
One Foot In Front Of The Other is the new mixtape from Griff. She has huge hype already, winning the Brit Award for Rising Star and a nomination for the Ivor Novello Rising Star Award. Several Others is the second studio LP from Belgian five-piece Whispering Sons. Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey (Talulah Gosh) release Birling Gap as The Catenary Wires. Stones Throw provide a full release for Dutch smoothy Benny Sings' City Pop LP. His new one Music is doing good business and this one has great vibes too.
Lastly today - and just this second landing through the door - Teliffusion is the new LP from Concretism on Castles in Space. Absolutely lush analogue electronics and nostalgic tape warmths. Really limited (Blue Vinyl) pressing this, so do not miss out!
