Insecure Men is the self titled debut album from Saul Ademczewski and Ben Romans-Hopcraft. It's billed somewhere between a super group and a side project, but it's best enjoyed on it's own merits as a beautifully-odd collection of lo fi pop songs.
Saul is/was part of Fat White Family and Ben is his long standing friend and leader of the indie-soul quartet Childhood. Recorded with Sean Lennon in upstate New York, the narrative and timeline of Insecure Men follows a really bleak sounding period of time in Saul's life. Without focusing in too hard on that, Insecure Men is dark and skewed (which would come as no surprise) but using cheap drum machines and sleazy sax parts, it's a very addictive set. Kitsch but honest and really quite fascinating.
+ Very very very limited Cherry Cola vinyl pressing.
