It could have been one of any of a dozen candidates, but we have chosen this week's Record of the Week to be the new, self-titled album from Slowdive.

It's their first new material in 22 years and they have really picked up in fine form. Glorious waves of sound, quite euphoric for the best part and filling a huge amount of space without sounding muddy or over cramped. Bloody good.
