Takes some balls to name your band Amazing, but they are a band we really dig and they have the chops to back it up.
Record of the week is Ambulance, the fourth studio album from The Amazing. They share members with Sweden’s psych forefathers Dungen and there are many jazz gestures here, drummer Moussa Fadera in particular making some ridiculously complicated things sound dreamy. The album was recorded in just a few days in one tiny room at Stockhom’s Buller & Bäng studio. It is hugely expansive, the most tumbling and dazzling melancholia we've heard in ages. Very highly recommended.
