Black Arches with Sexton Ming - Folly

Folly, the second release in Rocket’s Black Hole series, emerged from the strange gravitational pull of Hastings—a coastal town steeped in myth, mischief, and illusion. Named after a set of fake cavern entrances carved into the cliffside by 19th-century trickster John Coussens, Folly is both a tribute to and product of the wyrd energy that lingers there.

Black Arches formed around a regular experimental night called Weird Shit, led by author-musician Gareth E. Rees, joined by Matt Frost (The Dirty Contacts) and James Weaver. Enter outsider artist Sexton Ming, and things spiraled into stranger territory. Through a haze of improvised sessions, corrupted audio, and lost laptops, Folly took shape—murky, unpredictable, and possessed by a chaotic spirit.

It’s a freeform sonic travelogue, channeling dystopian visions, psychic disarray, and the spectral edge of English psychedelia. A dark prism for turbulent times, Folly is as beguiling as the illusory arches that gave the band its name.
