Cool Green Trees (1999–2005) gathers raw, soulful beats made by Stimulator Jones in his teens, long before his Stones Throw debut. Compiled from tapes shared online, the collection showcases formative years spent crafting sample-heavy instrumentals alone in his Roanoke home—his basement, bedroom, and computer room. Drawing from dusty gospel, funk, and psychedelic records, these tracks echo Madlib, DJ Shadow, and early RZA in spirit and sound. Each piece reflects the DIY magic of a young artist chasing the rhythms in his head without guidance, just instinct and inspiration. This isn’t a throwback—it’s the real thing. A time capsule from a self-taught beatmaker on a path lit by heroes and his own curiosity.

When will I get it?
We ship pre order items to arrive with you on or as close as possible to release day. We are limited naturally by when the stock arrives with us in Totnes, but we work hard to ship them in a timely fashion.
