A fantastic set of new releases for your Friday afternoons.
Hello, Friends.
What a week we've had over here already. A reminder that you can always land on the news page to catch up.
For the last time this year, we have a Record of the Month, this time Projector, the much-hyped debut from Brooklyn post-punks Geese. High on DIY spirit (it was recorded in stolen hours at home with sneakers as mic stands and blankets draped over the amps), it’s all about unbridled energy. For all it’s lo-fi aesthetics, this is dense and imaginative music, excellent changes of pace throughout and an ebullient energy that is very hard not to get lost in. Projector was mixed by the adroit Dan Carey, who successfully retains all the recordings spirt whilst ensuring that everything has its own space. Very much in the spirit of the storied NYC greats, with The Strokes bustling licks, Talking Heads yelping meanderings and the pounding strut of LCD Soundsystem or The Rapture. Certainly not the finished article, but a hugely impressive debut and a band to be very excited about indeed.
+ We have exclusive signed inserts to give away with the LP format.
+ Order the CD or LP this week and we'll enter you into the draw to win a test pressing.
Our Record of the Week is Overflow from Rival Consoles, one of our favourite contemporary electronic artists. The new release is a quite stunning soundscape that was composed for choreographer Alexander Whitley’s contemporary dance production. Really lush packaging on this one too.
Tell Me What You Miss The Most is the lush second studio LP from Tasha. Her voice is so breezy, really effortless vibes. We were very proud to work with Tasha and Father/Daughter records to release a custom Dinked Edition. We have just this minute made the last wave of stock available in the shop and online.

Accordion virtuoso Mario Batkovic returns with the quite stunning INTROSPECTIO. Featuring collaborations with electronic sorcerer James Holden and former BEAK> member Matthew Williams aka MXLX amongst others. Really immersive music and such amazing detail.
Showing no signs of slowing down their rapid creative pace - incredibly this is their fourth album in the space of just over one year - Vertigo of Flaws - is a mighty 29 track new LP from Trees Speak. Still full of lush Motorik beats, but this is their most sonically expansive release yet.
+ LPs include a limited edition bonus 7" & an 8-page 7x7” booklet; gatefold sleeve with cover artwork created by Soviet Union propaganda artist Lazar Markovich Lissitzky in 1911.
Matthew Halsall releases Salute to the Sun: Live at Hallé St. Peter's, live recording from an outstanding record that we played and played and played and played. Packaging is really mint!
Old Friends New Friends gathers together 23 solo piano tracks recorded between 2009 and 2021 from Nils Frahm. Released on Leiter, the new label he set up with his manager, Felix Grimm.
Ending out the week with some pretty serious Levitation Sessions.
Heavy psych power trio Charles Moothart, Ty Segall and Chad Ubovich rip through the best of FUZZ in a scorching set. We just made the last copies available on Neon Purple and Black Splatter Vinyl.
Not one, but TWO volumes from OSEES, with volume one out in the desert at Pappy & Harriet’s California and volume two from the depths of a cavernous Los Angeles factory. Again, utterly wild colour vinyl pressings on both.
Some really excellent not-new to tell you about shortly too, with; double Clara Rockmore, Ghana Music Power House, Basil Kirchin and Blood On Satan’s Claw!
