Michelle Zauner returns with Jubilee, her third LP as Japanese Breakfast and it is our Record of the Week. You know well that we are firm fans, but the big triumph and progression here is just all of it. Everything is more saturated, fuller, richer and deeper; it really is a beautifully crafted pop record, ecstatic with subtle hooks.

It's always chills when you hear that voice. One last evil collaboration this week with Czarface meeting MF DOOM one last time on Super What? It was recorded and slated for an early 2020 release, then paused while COVID raged. Although we lost DOOM, this collaboration of masked men finally finds it's way to us. Sharp, funny, poignant and all the drive you'd expect.

Arizona's Trees Speak return with their third LP in about a year with the excellent new PostHuman. Without any imitations, this one feels positively soaked in German Moteriks, Italian synths and lo-fi American Hollywood horror. It has drive and space and the tones are deliciously rich. Another absolute banger.

Changephobia is the second solo LP from Rostam Batmanglij, founding member of Vampire Weekend and all-round bubbly pop production head. Lush production as you'd expect, some really lush sounds (the woozy sax is pretty magic) but the big victory is that it sounds vast and expensive whilst remaining intimate and quite clearly personal. Enjoying this a lot.

The week's big seller is the return of Wolf Alice with Blue Weekend. Euphoric stuff this, the reviews are raving already!

Candlepower is the debut LP from Marina Allen and it really is lush. Deliciously spooky, retro valley vibes. She has a lush voice and the little gestures are really something else. Short and sweet, we've been playing this a lot.
Stubborn Heart return with Made Of Static on One Little Independent Records with their first LP in eight years. Hazy and ominous synth-soundscapes.
Man Made is the full debut form the much-hyped (and deservedly so) Greentea Peng. It's a neo-soul opus, 18 tracks that come and flow. Very rich vocals are the centre point in a mix that brings in tones of dub, hip hop and jazz. Fact fans, this LP is recorded in 432Hz frequency, a pitch that falls a semitone below music industry standard, which is thought to vibrate healing energy. Does feel nice, you know.

Liz Phair returns with her new LP Soberish (including a milky clear vinyl pressing). All The Colours Of You is the hugely vibrant new LP from James (including a 2LP half-&-half colour vinyl pressing). Creeping Speedwells is a limited 12" from excellent post-punks Deep Tan. Aquatic Flowers is the fourth, full-length album from beloved Nashville songwriter Tristen. Rise Against release the pounding Nowhere Generation (including a limited red vinyl pressing). We have Allison Russell's lush and soulful Outside Child (including a limited Orange vinyl pressing). Night Beats return with psychedelic and R&B-infused garage-rock sounds on Outlaw R&B (including a 'Galaxy Effect with Bone' colour vinyl pressing). Iconic beard Billy F Gibbons releases his third solo LP Hardware (including a transparent red vinyl pressing).
New Tradition is a brilliantly weird record of modern folk music from Ben Edge. Simple songs with curious and clever structures, the production is also lush, weird sounds. Limited pressing on Dark Green vinyl.
Available now - but being discussed tomorrow - we have Not-New Records of the Week from; MF DOOM, Hailu Mergia, The Specials, Squarepusher, The Avalanches and more. It is one heck of a week for it.
