If we really really REALLY had to pick just one Yo La Tengo album to cherish till we leave this grim mortal coil, we'd probably* have to go with I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One. What a peach. Hoboken's finest released their eighth studio LP in 1997 and this new pressing is part of Matador's “Revisionist History” Catalog Series on a handsome double Yellow colour vinyl pressing.
Honestly now, if you haven't done so before, for the love of god; get into this band!
Ten years and a week after it first dropped, Goat's explosive World Music debt LP gets a very nice pressing this week. Still hailing from the remote village of Korpilombo in northern Sweden - where inhabitants have for centuries been devoted to a form of voodoo introduced by a travelling witch doctor - it is a dark, addictive and mysterious as it ever was. Quite incredible die-cutting to the sleeve and we have a choice for you of either 'Royal Blue' or 'Hot Pink' colour vinyl.
The band have also just announced their forthcoming Oh Death on Rocket Recordings. We're hella glad to have them back, on a limited Cloudberry Swirl colour vinyl pressing too. The sleeve is rude.
A very serious slab of Stoner Metal from the vaults this week, with Goatsnake's heavy a.f. debut album - 1 - repressed on Southern Lord. The LP includes Guy Pinhas and Greg Rogers of The Obsessed, also Greg Anderson of Sunn O))) and Pete Stahl of Scream and Wool.
A couple of absolutely stonking reissues on the London-based New Land label this week. You'll no doubt remember how much we went on and on about the label’s debut release with Gerry Mulligan's Night Lights, the following releases are also superb.
Trumpeter Blue Mitchell released a run of Blue Note titles in the sixties, but it's his self-titled LP that gets reissued this week and it is well worth checking out. The 1971 release was his first for the Mainstream label and has some really nice funk tones going on.
Originally released on the Bethlehem label, Dusty Blue is a mid-career gem from the boppin' Howard McGhee. This one really floats. Mastered from the original tape transfers by Kevin Gray, this is a sublime recording from start to finish.

Regina Spektor's 11:11 debut LP gets its first ever vinyl pressing this week. It's a pretty vivid and explosive set. The CD follows in October.
Landing bang on the 30th anniversary of the performance, The Charlatans' Live At Reading Festival 1992 is release this week on Then Records. Recorded by the BBC, it has the early singles and charged up versions of tracks from Between 10th and 11th, amongst others.

Also includes a fifty page book with liner notes from acclaimed biographer David Katz.
