Not-New Records of the Week: Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney and Wings, The Mars Volta and The Pale Blue Dots.

Not-New Records of the Week: Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney and Wings, The Mars Volta and The Pale Blue Dots.

It is Monday, so they are new, but not-new.

Hello, Friends.

Not-New Records of the Week is headed up today with a very few limited copies of Nancy Sinatra's Start Walkin' on double 'Velvet Morning Sunrise' yellow vinyl. So whilst stocks last, we now have Velvet Sunrise and also 'Arkansas Coal' coloured pressings, which both look 10/10 wows. Such a killer record, really can't wait to hear what Nancy and LITA have planned next.

Wild Life in the shop today (and on the stereo now as it happens) with a limited edition, half-speed mastered vinyl pressing of the Paul McCartney & Wings debut. Sounds really mint and it's wild how much is in the mix, he doesn't half love making very difficult stuff sound easy.

Another addition to the very handsome-looking Mars Volta reissues today with The Bedlam In Goliath. It is one of their most derided releases, which is WAYYYYY off-point as there is some pretty thrilling stuff going on here. If you get it... You get it.

+ Pressed on Müritz Blue, Brick-Red & Transparent Vinyl.

"It's even harder to believe such twaddle is being made in 2008."

In very short supply this week, we have a woozing beauty from the SFA universe. The Pale Blue Dots are Huw ‘Bunf’ Bunford (Super Furry Animals) and Richard Chester (Hotel Lima). Their debut album Lots of Dots was released back in 2014 as a digital only edition, so we're delighted that the fans united and pressed up this nine-track odyssey of alternative pop, Bay Area psychedelia and soundscape experimentation on 180g pale blue vinyl. All songs mastered for vinyl by Kliph Scurlock and includes a 170gsm art insert by Mark James.

A few releases arriving with us this week that we've been waiting on. LP copies in the racks and shipping now, with Josienne Clarke's I Promised You LightBilly Bragg's The Million Things That Never Happened and Roddy Woomble excellent Lo! Soul.

Otherwise, last few copies of the Primal Scream Live At Levitation online now (which looks wild!) and the last tiny restocks on Red Mitski and Deluxe/Indie Black Country, New Road.
