Records of the Week: caroline, Keeley Forsyth, Holodrum, King Hannah, SASAMI, Binker & Moses and Melt Yourself Down.

Well, it is an absolutely bonkers week of new music.

Hello, Friends.

Starting this hugely impressive week of new music with FOUR releases that we've had the joy of bringing to you as Dinked Editions.

Our Record of the Week is the quite stunning debut from the experimental eight-piece caroline. As regular readers will know, we've been raving about them for a good year or so now, this is a debut that we have been long waiting for. Each track and especially the album as a whole feels brilliantly sculpted, long pieces - with inference in Appalachian folk and post-rock - that evolve and unfold. A marvellous album.

Limbs is the second album from musician and actor Keeley Forsyth and it is quite simply spectacular. Her chilling vibrato is right at the heart of the album, like a beacon through the icy waters of orchestration. Her debut knocked us sideways, this one sent us through the floor; about as far from easy-going as you can get, but a remarkable experience.

+ At this point, we'd be daft not to flag up that both caroline and Keeley Forsyth will be joining us in May for Sea Change.

Holodrum is the self-titled debut LP from the Leeds-based super-seven-piece. Disco-infused synth-pop, with hugely gratifying grooves to get locked into. There are sounds both gloriously old and weirdly modern amongst the controlled euphoria, excellent stuff.

I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me is the seductive full debut LP from Liverpool duo Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle as King Hannah. Full of smoulder, they make a hugely impressive sound for a duo, rattling reverbs and sultry drums. It's a seductive one, this.

Squeeze is the superb second album from Sasami Ashworth. Recorded at the Los Angeles-based home studio of King Tuff’s Kyle Thomas, it also features Ty Segall on co-production duties on a handful of numbers and guest appearances throughout from Megadeth’s Dirk Verbeuren, jazz drummer Jay Bellerose, the London experimental artist No Home. It is testament to Sasami's ambition and wild imagination, an album crammed with ideas that flows brilliantly.

+ We have exclusive Crystal Clear colour vinyl copies.

Melt Yourself Down return this week with Pray For Me I Don’t Fit In. Retains all of their propulsive energy whilst really deep-diving into the sonics of production, it sounds quite amazing. Highly recommended.

Binker and Moses return with Feeding The Machine, some of their most sonically explorative moments to date. Featuring honorary band member Max Luthert on tape loops and electronics, this new LP expands into ambient, minimalism and experimental electronic music. Really wild, really good.

Adelle Stripe & Lias Saoudi - Ten Thousand Apologies Fat White Family and the Miracle of Failure

Wild Loneliness is the twelfth studio LP from North Carolina icons Superchunk. Full of melodic hooks and lush guitar tones. We have a limited 'Peak Edition' vinyl pressing that looks amazing.

Robert Glasper releases Black Radio III, the third instalment in his critically acclaimed series. Hugely collaborative, with guest artists including Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, Ledisi, Q-Tip, Jennifer Hudson, Killer Mike, Ty Dolla Sign and more.

The Social Animals is the new solo LP from Duquette Johnston of seminal indie-rock band Verbena. Features loads of guests, including Steve Shelley on drums.

London-based duo Blue Lab Beats make their full-length Blue Note Records debut with Motherland Journey. We've had our eyes on them since the excellent Blue Note Re:imagined comp.

A Modern Life is the new LP from Los Angeles based quartet Lo Moon. We have a limited Clear / Smoky colour vinyl edition.

Double husband and wife duos Blushing release Possessions via Kanine Records. Big dream pop vibes and a guest appearance from Miki Berenyi. Limited Cloudy Clear colour vinyl.

Birkenhead's finest - Half Man Half Biscuit - release The Voltarol Years this week on the RM Qualtrough label. CDs are here, LPs are due late summer.

Finally in the building is Deerhoof's Actually, You Can on vinyl. Man alive, ain't no one making pop like Deerhoof make pop!

What a week, enjoying diving in.
