Compiled; Bliss Out For Days, Eccentric Disco, DEVO and Begging the Moon.

Well, we did promise that we’d tell you about some excellent compilations.

There is something about New Age music that really captures this time of year for us; fragile spaces and cosmic opportunities that mirror the light. Maybe it’s just nice headspaces to step out of the mania? Either way, our guys at Numero have put together a really fantastic primer of private press goodness called Bliss Out: For Days. This double set - with eighteen tracks - gives cut-down tasters of long and flowing epics from Laraaji, Joanna Brouk, Peter Davison and more. This Christmas, you need Bliss-mas.

+ Double Crystal Clear Wave colour vinyl.

Numero also have ‘Eccentric Disco’ as part of their excellent ‘Eccentric series’ due to land with us this week. Absolutely no doubts that this’ll be a solid essential too.

The Futurismo label presents a brand new limited pressing of the DEVO’s incredible Recombo DNA. This limited edition 4xLP set is a sonic fusion of demos, alternate versions and outtakes, demonstrating the true breadth and talent of one of America’s most important bands. This one sure made us whoop and wail. Belters.

+ Available on an exclusive "Conscious Mutation" 4LP pressing with a Mini CD.

We will admit to being shamefully late to the ‘Death Is Not The End’ party, but the London-based label (and superb NTS radio show) are firmly in our sites now and we’ll once again put the splendid Begging the Moon: Phleng Thai Sakon & Luk Krung, 1945-1960 compilation under your noses. The set is concerned with an early-to-mid 20th century style of Thai popular song, commonly named Phleng Thai sakon (meaning "song which is both Thai and universal"). Mid 40’s through to early 60’s and such a world to discover, as the jazz tones evolved through folk and other western influences. Really highly recommended.
