Warm sunlight, cool breezes and a fond goodbye to February.
Hello, Friends.
Signing off February 2021 with a late afternoon check in from Drift HQ.
It took just three minutes of the prospective Spring sunshine for us to restock our Drift peaked goods. Heritage Cord 'Good ol' Drift' caps in Camel and Dark Olive and our 'Loopy Embroido' on low profile six panel caps in Copper and Petrol Blue. All fully stocked up on in the racks now.
The early afternoon drive from us to Soar Mill Cove (to stretch legs as per all good and proper advice) would have been horrendous without one. Have a browse at all Drift Merch here, including the all new Wayward Studio Play Nice V2 Record Bag that we're excited to get our hands on this week.
My word. What a rush it was reading Alex Tobin's beautiful review of the self-titled Mirry album on Aquarium Drunkard. Anyone who has been on our mailing list or following us on socials over the last decade or so will be well familiar with our extreme admiration of Aquarium Drunkard. Very few online spaces create such a thoughtful content. The coverage this weekend of Mirry is just such a joy, a reflective look at both the crystalline beautify of the music, but also the lives of its creators. Loved reading it and we highly recommend you take five minutes out to do so too!
We'll be talking more about Mirry in the next few weeks, including an interview in the forthcoming new edition of Deluxe with Mirry's nephew Geoffrey Drage, the man who lovingly recorded and preserved hundreds of stereoscopic slides, super-8 films, photographs, stories, poems and further recordings some seventy years ago.

From the vaults: Jeffery Lewis
Over the last fifteen or so years, few artists have toured so constantly and so widely as native New Yorker Jeffrey Lewis. Look back at our 2015 interview (including his guest cover) for Deluxe.
