Bright Future is the fifth solo LP from Adrianne Lenker, a powerful and tender set of songs from the voice of Big Thief.
On Bright Future, the arrangements are relatively simple with just voices, guitar, piano and violin creating a hugely evocative swoon. The subtlety is masterful and that is exactly what is needed. A testament to honouring songs through simplicity. Lenker’s voice is so rich, at times a hushed whisper and at times some of her boldest. Bright Future is her first album since 2020’s songs & instrumentals, and features co-production from Philip Weinrobe, alongside contributions from Nick Hakim, Mat Davidson, and Josefin Runsteen.

It’s not just the richness and emotionally honesty of her voice, the album sounds absolutely fantastic. Recorded to tape at the forest-hidden Double Infinity space, there is a beautiful depth that plays it's own character in the album, a legitimacy and the sort of realness that makes it feel not so much like she is in the same room as you, but that you are in the same, vast, cherry wood floored room as her. Available on (random) recycled vinyl, the pressing is 100% analog-analog-analog (AAA), with no digital process used in the production of the sound recording.
