Record of the Week is the spectacular return of trio Szun Waves with Earth Patterns. Producer Luke Abbott, saxophonist Jack Wyllie (Portico Quartet) and drummer Laurence Pike (Triosk/PVT/Liars) have again found amazing and quite inspiring sonic headpsaces. It all evolves in loops, very much like the organic 'Earth Patterns' of the album's title. We're really thrilled to have brought this to you as a Dinked Edition, which, as it happens, looks absolutely spectacular!

North East Coastal Town is the swaggering and big poppin' return of Hull's LIFE. The same punk energy that put them on the map, but there is a really nuanced and melodic quality to this new album, a genuine and heartfelt love letter to their hometown.

90 In November is the debut album from New-York-by-way-of-Texas transplants Why Bonnie. We always really like the Keeled Scales label output, but there is such a great melancholy-euphoria on this one. Warm and nostalgic, it sounds not directly like tons of albums we really love.

Freakout/Release is the glorious return of Hot Chip and it is really, really good fun! They've always played with the subtleties of their tones, and this new double LP retains all of their drive whilst really doubling down on their weirder pop side. Co-produced with Soulwax, there is a really strong funk to the electro strut.

Diamond Horsetail is the new EP from sizzling post-punk trio deep tan, and it's not going OTT to declare them one of the most exciting young band's around. Proper ESG vibes if you ask us, excellent.
We paired this new EP up with the band's creeping speedwells EP and released it as a double via Dinked, but that really did sell out instantly. FYI, they are due in a couple of weeks, so keep those jets cooled folks.
Another of the week's hype EPs is the return of Bdrmm with the Port EP. Features the acclaimed Port single, alongside remixes by Daniel Avery, Working Men’s Club, A Place To Bury Strangers and more.
Erland Cooper has gone full Mort Garson with his really stunning new Music For Growing Flowers LP. This really is special stuff, ambient suites of modern classical compositions. Not many people can make things actually sound organic, this really is a lush vibe.
Also worth flagging here is that Mort Garson's evergreen Mother Earth’s Plantasia has a lovely-looking re-press on Sacred Bones Records this week too. We'll chat more about that on Monday's dispatches.
The Mountain Goats are in full Falling Down mode for their 21st (possibly) album, Bleed Out. The narrative arc is great and this is as vibrant a set from them as we can remember. Late-career gold, we tell you!
Gnosis is the highly anticipated, eighth full-length album from Chicago trio Russian Circles. Hard rocking landscapes on Sargent House, limited Transparent Orange colour vinyl too!
We're really impressed by Ruby Goon's debut LP - Brand New Power - on Phantasy Sound this week, a squelching blend of psychedelia, glam, indie rock and tons of soul. Definitely a big tip to check out.

Garageband Superstar is the fuzzy and glimmering debut LP from Lauran Hibberd. Viva Las Vengeance is the upbeat and anthemic new Panic! At The Disco album, includes a limited Orange vinyl colourway. Between Here & Everywhere is the third LP from Australian duo Death Bells, includes a limited Clear Orange vinyl edition. Indie-pop singer-songwriter, composer and producer Ben Lee returns with the positively fluro new I’M FUN! album. Folks, Glow in the Dark vinyl!
On the stereo right now is Tremors in the Static, the beautifully atmospheric album from duo Vega Trails. Double-bassist and composer Milo Fitzpatrick - a founder member of Portico Quartet - and saxophonist Jordan Smart (Mammal Hands, Sunda Arc) really have created a vibe, this one is highly recommended.
Lastly this week is an absolutely wonderful new book from cultural icon (she really is) Cosey Fanni Tutti. The Lives and Recordings of Delia Derbyshire, Margery Kempe and Cosey Fanni Tutti is the story of three women consumed by their passion for life, a passion they expressed through music and art.
Dear Cosey has signed our hardbacks - AND - we have an absolutely incredible box set edition that really has to be seen!
