Hello, Friends.We know that you know, but A Light For Attracting Attention is the debut LP from The Smile, a super-group comprising Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead, with Tom Skinner from Sons of Kemet. They all bring their best game here; riffs, great drive, some lush space and all the dynamism of Thom's distinctive vocals. In the best possible way, it's pretty much what you'd hope for and expect, but the delivery really is special. A great record.

Living Isn't Easy is the debut LP from Northern Irish band-cum-art-collective Robocobra Quartet... And it is absolutely mega! Flashes of punk angst and the frenetic changes in pace of a jazz set. Not without a sense of humour, but this one is hard and pretty essential listening. The best kind of undefinable genre smashing.

My Other People is the pounding second LP from UK post-punks TV Priest. The London four-piece retain their drive and grit, but the nuance here is fantastic, it's such a sonically smart album.

Melodic Washington D.C. punk band Flasher return this week on Domino and it's a glorious reinvention. Formerly a trio, the band are now a duo (Taylor Mulitz and Emma Baker) and sonically the shift has moved into purring guitars, a breezy space between new-wave and post-punk frenetics. Love Is Yours has such great vibes, highly recommended.

For All Our Days That Tear The Heart is the collaborative debut from Academy Award-nominated actress Jessie Buckley and Brit Award-winning producer Bernard Butler. Some pretty big and swelling moments, but when they play it simple (especially vocally) it's definitely got something going on.
Foals return with the big poppin' new Life Is Yours album. They have successfully managed to keep their distinctly Foals-ness, but this new set is a proper expansive collection of Summer bangers. Joyous, with bubbling production.

Palaces is the new studio set from the Grammy-winning Flume. Still got those big, old, floor-shaking bangers, but some introspective moments too and the guest vocals (including Caroline Polachek, MAY-A, Oklou and Damon Albarn) keep it all moving along.
Greek artist Σtella makes her Sub Pop debut with the mesmerising Up and Away, an old-school pop paean to the pangs and raptures of love. Sunshine and melancholy!

Genre-twisting duo Nova Twins release the new Supernova LP this week and it really is a riot. Proper breakneck changes of direction. We have a limited Clear vinyl pressing too.
Yorkshire-based XAM Duo release XAM Duo II this week on Sonic Cathedral. It's such a lush headspace, a 30 minute set that isn't strictly meditative, but one that really locks you in.
Also this week; a sombre and fascinating return from Hercules & Love Affair with In Amber. Yaya Bey's eagerly anticipated Remember Your North Star on Big Dada. Composer Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch releases the stunning Ravage on 130701. Charles Watson's excellent YES album lands on vinyl via Moshi Moshi.
South African singer-songwriter Wren Hinds releases the A Child's Chant for a New Millennium album on the Bella Union affiliated Private Pressings imprint. Really lovely and really limited.
Lastly this week, Katie Harkin releases Honeymoon Suite, her second solo LP as Harkin and it's pretty lush. She's had a pretty busy decade (initially fronting Sky Larkin, then collaborating with Dua Lipa and joining both Sleater-Kinney and Courtney Barnett’s band) and the fragile Honeymoon Suite on her own Hand Mirror Records feels very much like her own moments of calm. Dark but alluring, much to discover in its subtlety. It's a limited colour vinyl pressing and she even signed them for us!
