Calm Down is the debut album from Ari Roar on Bella Union. It's a real beauty and the very embodiment of short and sweet. Clocking at just 28 minutes, few of its fifteen tracks pass the two-minute mark, short fragments that crackle and burn in a glorious haze and fade into the memory right in front of you. It's like watching a firework display on a hot summer night.
Harry Nilsson, Elliott Smith and John Lennon all channelled into a modern DIY masterpiece of dreamy pop music. Ari Roar is the moniker of Texan singer-songwriter Caleb Campbell and Calm Down has honestly knocked us sideways, so many moments of sheer joy and exquisitely layered songs.
