This afternoon we’re talking about all the week’s new stuff and it’s full of crackers.

Our Record of the Week is Uncommon Weather the excellent third LP from The Reds, Pinks & Purples. RP&P are centered on the bedroom pop vibes of prolific San Francisco-based songwriter Glenn Donaldson. Although easily categorised as lofi and twee, there is a lot more going on and he also never leans too heavily on any genre styling. Largely self-recorded and self-performed, the album is stocked full with timeless pop gems. If you have even a passing interest in jangle, Glenn is your man.
+ We have a very limited indie shop version that is pressed on light blue coloured transparent vinyl.
Not only this, but we have a very very limited blue vinyl repressing of the (also excellent) 2020 mini-album You Might Be Happy Someday. You might remember us banging on about the lead single 'Last Summer in a Rented Room' - which brilliant as it is - but it’s hardly even the stand out moment, which is testament to the prolific Donaldson's talents.
O.M. Days is the glorious return of friend to Drift, Raf Rundell. Super-smart and super-fun, it's a total banger with tones of indie pop, funk and electronic music colliding to euphoric effect. Brilliantly balanced guest appearances (including Terri Walker and FWF's Lias Saoudi) that offer up changes of pace and keep O.M. Days bubbling.
+ This first LP edition is pressed on Eco Wax Vinyl... So they will all be different!
Third Man Records release the debut self-titled album from New Orleans' Silver Synthetic. Such lush timbres going on; nice bit of jangling (and quite Byrds-esque) guitar, sun-drenched psych and plenty of pounding to the rhythm section. Super warm throughout, you can practically feel the glow from the valve amps.

Vague Tidings is the wonderful return of southern Indiana songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joseph O'Connell as Elephant Micah. He's another prolific one, so it's hard not to lose count, but this is his fifteenth or sixteenth LP by our reckoning, but this could and should be the one that really captures the attention he deserves. It's just beautifully balanced and any of you with a heart for Bill Callahan or Jason Molina: this is gonna be right up your street.
Keys is the return of the united forces of Bill MacKay and Nathan Bowles, a collaborative set from a couple of players that we sure like a lot. Guitar and banjo duets that bring modern space to traditional sounds. Really lush, a proper headspace.
Music is the second studio album for Stones Throw by Dutch artist Benny Sings. Super-chill radio-funk-and-soul, featuring Tom Misch, KYLE and Mac DeMarco. Limited Gold vinyl if you're quick.
Also this week; Max Richter follows up last year's Voices LP with Voices 2. We have a limited Coke Bottle Clear vinyl pressing of Ariana Grande's Positions. Flyte return reinvigorated with This Is Really Going To Hurt (and we have a limited Blue vinyl pressing).
We have a double from saxophonist and composer Binker Golding. Firstly collaborating with John Edwards and Steve Noble on the mega limited Moon Day, and also with Elliot Galvin for the excellent and sonically searching Ex Nihilo.
Lastly, the much hyped Courting release the Grand National EP. This sold out hard and fast on preorder, so these last few copies we held back are it, it, lemon, it. Don't miss out.
