Record of the Week is an out-of-season hot-swooner from The Avalanches. Actually, they're based in Melbourne which has a sunny 19° forecast, so this makes a lot more sense. We Will Always Love You is lush, a cosmic love story with shimmering production and expertly curated guest appearances from (deep breath...); Orono, Blood Orange, MGMT, Johnny Marr, Leon Bridges, Sananda Maitreya, Vashti Bunyan, Perry Farrell, Cola Boyy, Mick Jones, Tricky, Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry, CLYPSO, Denzel Curry, Sampa The Great, Kurt Vile, Karen O, Rivers Cuomo, Pink Siifu, Kelly Moran and Cornelius. As is their way, this is lush, textured music with dreamy samples and all of the guest contributors adding new and searching directions. Brilliantly made.

Ever restless, John Dwyer returns with Panther Rotate, a superb remix/companion LP to the recent OSEES baller Protean Threat. I'm not actually sure who remixed them, Dwyer we'd assume? There is a really lush, dubby vibe, it's like a 60s art film about bad trips with oozing speakers warbling in and out of focus. We played it back-to-back with Protean Threat and it was such a ride. Honestly, there is just no-one out there as prolific and as essential.

As we mentioned earlier in the week, our December Record of the Month is the glorious self-titled debut Mirry album. Our exclusive early release Dinked Edition is shipping now and has alternate sleeve-art, a 16 page archive booklet, a hand-numbered Riso print and is pressed on ‘Smoke and Light’ vinyl that looks bloody amazing.

National Freedom is a five-song collaboration between artist Lonnie Holley and the late, visionary producer Richard Swift. It sounds futuristic and very old... It's pretty special.
Plastic Bouquet is the new collaboration between Kacy & Clayton and Marlon Williams. Dusty country spun through a kaleidoscope of psychedelic soul and dreamy fifties delivery. Fantastic, this. The LP has been delayed into late January we're afraid.
A little volley of live albums in the racks with Belle & Sebastian's What To Look For In Summer, twenty-two live performances featuring songs from across their 25 year career. I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose charts Bombay Bicycle Club live in Brixton from last November. For the first time since the original vinyl pressing in 1988, Oh Boy Records has repressed John Prine [Live] with limited double yellow vinyl options. John hasn't landed yet, but we're pretty sure this one is en-route.
A couple of limited 7" singles for you this week with Sinéad O'Connor releasing Trouble of The World on Heavenly Recordings and a previous website-exclusive edition of Billie Eilish's My Future on Picture Disc.
Moving on, two albums reissued this week that we just couldn't get enough of...
Elizium was the third studio LP from Fields of the Nephilim. For any of you with a passing interest in GY!BE or Swans, this is RIGHT up your street. Sounds heavy as you like.
Frightened Rabbit's The Winter Of Mixed Drinks gets a special 10th Anniversary Edition on Ice Blue vinyl with a bonus 7" single.
Neither release touched the sides on preorder, but we have kept back a few copies of each that are available online... NOW!

A couple of Killing Joke releases this week, with a special half-black and half-white vinyl pressing of their self-titled debut, and a special Transparent Blue and Clear pressing of their critically-acclaimed ninth LP, Pandemonium.
Also arriving in pairs, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's debut Welcome To The Pleasuredome and sophomore Liverpool LPs get fresh pressings.
And the last of this little double set sees 2020 pressings of Interpol's Our Love To Admire (double Blue vinyl) and Antics (White vinyl). Don't mind admitting that we cranked these way loud on Tuesday morning, both sound fantastic and Interpol really were (are?) one of the finest. Classics.
After much stopping and starting, we have a slab of Elbow back in the shop, with 2020 vinyl editions of Asleep in the Back, Cast of Thousands, Leaders of the Free World and Dead In The Boot. Some really lovely moments, not sure how many of these we can get hold of either.
We have real nice editions of The Kinks' Lola Versus Powerman and The Moneygoround, Part One. The LP features the newly-remastered original stereo album on black heavyweight vinyl in a carefully restored and replicated original gatefold sleeve. Includes a 12” booklet with comprehensive notes, new band quotes, rare photos and memorabilia.
Jamie xx's In Colour gets a super-fun colour repressing on lucky dip orange, green or purple vinyl. We ordered TONS of these and had a really good look... We can't tell, so you really are going to have to get lucky. It was really nice to revisit this one on the shop stereo.
And lastly this week, The Kills issue a deep cuts compilation called Little Bastards. Pretty essential for the heads and new fans alike. The songs date back from the band’s first 7-inch singles in 2002 through to 2009. All of the material has been newly remastered for release and we have a very handsome double Transparent Neon Yellow vinyl pressings.
