King Kurt, King Gizz and all the rest of the new release royalty.

Hello, Friends.

A big old return in these parts with (watch my moves) from Kurt Vile of Philadelphia. His ninth LP has all the Vile hallmarks, laconically drawled poetry, freewheeling riffs and idiosyncratic musings, but the sonic palette is ever richer. Loads of instruments in the mix, loads of changes of pace, it's a really great collection of songs. Record of the Week.

+ Our Indie exclusive LPs are pressed on Emerald Green colour vinyl.
+ Whilst stocks last, we have some free Kurt custom guitar picks with all orders.

Social Dissonance is an absolutely amazing live performance from Pye Corner Audio, captured at the Sonic Cathedral 15th birthday party of 2019. Improvisations and reworked material from across his storied career, the energy is amazing. Released on a very limited edition cassette a few years back, it is available on vinyl for the first time, and impressively so on a Green and Blue Swirl vinyl pressing.

Pye Corner Audio - Social Dissonance

Made In Timeland is a long-lost King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard record mysteriously unearthed on the eve of 2022. Has to be said, even for KGWL, this is WILD. Two tracks, two sides and the metronomic bleep (at 60bpm, like a clicking clock) throughout as the tones move through ambient, dub, baroque library and about 100 other sonic ideas, landing a few times on tribal dance. This one won't be on the digital services, so head on down to your record shop to hear it. A total trip.

Black Pearl is the brand new LP from 50 Foot Wave, Kristin Hersh of Throwing Muses 'other' band, featuring fellow Muses Bernard Georges on bass and drummer Rob Ahlers. Jagged indie rock riffs with some really dark distortion. This one really is a Black Pearl.

London four-piece Japanese Television return this week with the gloriously deranged Space Fruit Vineyard. They have really taken their space surf rock to the stratosphere, shimmering and grooving jams that pierce through waves of reverb. Such a great sound and such a great vibe, fantastic band, this lot.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Made In Timeland

Elysian is the new LP from Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) as Tstewart. Really gorgeous textures, piano meditations and blissful slow production. Highly recommended.

Soul Revivers (producer David Hill and multi-instrumentalist Nick “Manesseh” Raphael) release On The Grove, an ambitious collaberative project including reggae legends Ernest Ranglin, Ken Boothe and Earl 16.

Lastly today - and just in the building - is the Winter issue of the absolutely brilliant MOOF magazine. The grooviest articles and interviews on psychedelic music, art and culture. Love it.

We'll also be back in your inbox soon talking about the week's best new reissues from; M83, Grouper, Dungen, The Weather Station, Butcher Boy and Tyler The Creator.
