Description

Something of a holy grail for collectors after it was released as a small private pressing in New York City in 1974, Evolution by drummer David Lee Jr. is a stunning fusion of Afro-futurist, spiritual jazz a la John Coltrane and Sun Ra with more traditional dance rhythms of New Orleans jazz. Lee himself is a percussion tour-de-force throughout, playing with fire and brimstone.
