Record of the Month: Viagra Boys - Cave World

Hold onto something. Anything. Cave World is the thunderous return of Stockholm post-punks Viagra Boys and our July Record of the Month.

Cave World is absolutely brimming with life, a rich spectrum of laughs and grunts that finds the idiosyncratic punks in both bullish and wry form.

"Viagra Boys’ full-blooded commitment to the absurdist satire is still an irresistible joy." - Loud & Quiet [8/10]

📺 Punk Rock Loser

There is much fun to be had - with muscular riffs and a thick and dirge-drenched drive - and although genuinely funny, it's clear this is no joke. They have swagger, but they are not pulling any punches.

"Viagra Boys stamp a great big watermark over this album as they engrave their aesthetic right down to its core. ‘Cave World’ sees them bounce back with another grandiose LP just a year after their last – true miracle workers." - Clash [8/10]

📺 Ain't No Thief

Surreal, striking, sinister, strange, sexual, Swedish(?), it's a really hard one to pin down, but thats very much part of the charm. It's just very good and trying to overthink what or why could break the spell.

Sleaford Mod Jason Williamson even pops up with the obligatory spot of fierceness on Big Boy.

+ Available on limited Red or Green colour vinyl pressings.
