Record of the Month: Vintage Crop - Kibitzer

Our first proper summer banger is Kibitzer, the brittle, frenetic and rollocking fourth album from Geelong punks, Vintage Crop.

Upset The Rhythm are one of those labels who get our full attention with every release. We've also long been admirers of Vintage Crop, so when we had the opportunity to work with them both on a Dinked Edition, we bit their bloody hands off.

📺 Double Slants.

Melodic, funny, poignant and full of ripping energy, Kibitzer hurtles along with such great energy. Impressively, it was recorded in just one day with Jasper Jolley (of the much-hyped Melbourne band Bones and Jones), before being mixed and mastered by Total Control's Mikey Young... You know, for the full Antipodean-royalty-sparkle!

📺 The Bloody War.

"I feel like a lot of our lyrics over the years have been our unsolicited opinions on other people’s situations, the very definition of the word Kibitzer. For this record we wanted to lean into that tendency by acknowledging it and even go as far as stamping it on the album cover." - Jack Cherry
