Record of the Week is the absolutely glorious self-titled debut album from Honeyglaze. It has such a lush pace and delivery, their confidence in their hushed, sort-of lo-fi soul is just so alluring. One of the most exciting young bands around, this is a brilliantly distinctive debut and as ever, it's pure gold from Speedy Wunderground!

Emotional Eternal marks the return of the superb Melody's Echo Chamber. The soft, psychedelic hues that made the first records so addictive remain, but there is a really focused element to the centre of each song, it's like you can see her through the haze. This is such a rich collection, deep dive into the sonics and keep going back for repeat listens around the smartness and density of the songs. A right banger.

i don't know who need to hear this... is the second studio LP from Sarah Beth Tomberlin, mononymously as Tomberlin. She has such a beautiful voice and the pacing here is pretty magic. In a week stacked full of albums, don't overlook this subtle gem.

MAHAL is the new studio LP from Toro y Moi and it's an absolute banger. The production is super vivid and the most squelchy record he's ever made. Vintage hues without over-styling, it's just got great summer vibes and stacks of confidence. As soon as the sun pops out, this one is going to be a right summer soundtrack.

A couple of fantastic albums released this week on the Duophonic Super 45s label. We've been raving about the Stereolab-ran label for ages as you well know, but these really are both corkers!
Astrel K is Rhys Edwards of Ulrika Spacek and Flickering i is a really superb debut. Swooning cinematic flourishes with driving and deliciously analogue strums and bleeps. Wonky pop of the highest order, we love this.
Ghost Power is the collaborative debut from Jeremy Novak (Dymaxion) and Timothy Gane (Stereolab / Cavern of Anti-Matter). Hugely inventive music, rattling along with bubbling synths and snapping drums. The production is pretty masterful. Great vibes.
When It Comes sees Canadian-Serbian songwriter Dana Gavanski return to Full Time Hobby. We were delighted to make it available as our 175th Dinked Edition and we've actually just put the last dozen copies in stock... NOW! Smart and winding pop songs and her delivery is really dreamy. Highly recommended.
Free Time is the new album by Jerry Paper and it really is a lo-fi, weirdo-pop masterpiece. It's such smart music (they've previously collaborated with Tyler, The Creator, Weyes Blood, Charlotte Day Wilson and BadBadNotGood), but it never detracts from really addictive little hooks and tones. Right up our street, this one.

Melbourne based Mildlife release their first live album - Live from South Channel Island - this week on Heavenly. The performance was part of a livestream last March, recorded on location in Port Phillip Bay, an island located off the coast of Sorrento in the south of Victoria. Looks incredible and the vibes are so strong.
Duo Let's Eat Grandma return to Transgressive with their new David Wrench co-produced album Two Ribbons. The writing is fantastic, euphoric without ditching the voices that lead it. Great pace, this one is going to be all over the radio!

Lady For Sale is the sophomore LP from Lola Kirke on Third Man. Country-twinged vocals (and how) with twanging and shimmering pop production.

The Consistent Brutal Bullshit Gong is the new LP from Market, the band led by New York-based multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer Nate Mendelsohn. Production is great, naturally, but don't overlook how great these songs are; smart, sad, bangers.

Constant Connection is the new LP from Australian duo Erasers. We've really fallen for this one. Long, evolving synth drones and some ghostly vocals floating around. Really lush, make sure to check this one out folks.
Fold is the debut LP from Brighton-based duo Diner. They build up some really superb Motoriks, great density and haze.

12 Stars is the new LP on Blue Note from Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer Melissa Aldana. Pretty cosmic stuff.
Social Graces is the excellent debut LP from the Australian post-punks Loose Fit. Neurotic, driving and really off-kilter. Another of the week's thrillingly weird directions.
Also this week, we have the long-awaited vinyl pressing of The Weeknd's Dawn FM. Our Dinked Edition copies of Hatchie's Giving The World Away have arrived and are en route to you all. Röyksopp release their conceptual new Profound Mysteries project, stacked full of great guests and great energy. William Basinski & Janek Schaefer collaborate on the beautiful and stirring . . . on reflection. The vinyl format is not due until October and we'll hopefully manage to articulate this one by then, a proper heartbreaker. Bloc Party return with Alpha Games, their first new LP in yonks. Includes a limited red colour vinyl pressing. Scalping release the apocalyptic and full-throttle Void via Houndstooth. Blossoms release their big poppin' new forth album Ribbon Around The Bomb. We have some cool tote bags and temporary tattoos to give away with this one.
Lastly this week, A Gut Feeling is the putrid and sizzling new LP from brother duo Cassels. Everything from its grim sleeve art to the sharp and bristling production is totally jacked up, discombobulating and alluring. An utterly thrilling record.
