Nothing is lost on Cash Langdon. On Dogs, the Alabama songwriter’s sharp observations extend beyond lyrics into the chemistry of his band, Meadow Dust. Their sound—fuzzy, heavy country rock—channels the rawness of Neil Young & Crazy Horse: unvarnished, direct, and emotionally resonant. Langdon’s voice carries that same weight—part worn-down, part clear-eyed—with moments of dry humour and quiet resolve.

The album follows 2022’s Sinister Feeling, but feels more grounded, shaped by the heat and camaraderie of playing live. Recorded over just two days at Portside Studios, the former Muscle Shoals Sound location, Dogs captures Meadow Dust in full force.

Engineer Brad Timko (Dan Sartain, St. Paul and The Broken Bones) lets the band’s intensity breathe, favouring feel over polish. Tracks like “Magic Again” and the title cut reflect a resignation that’s not defeatist but honest, showing Langdon’s knack for pairing grit with grace. Dogs is rough-edged country rock with a real pulse.
