Salami Rose Joe Louis, the alias of multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Olsen, returns with Lorings, a vivid and off-kilter dive into experimental dream pop. Built around her Roland MV8800 sampler, affectionately named FunFunFun, the album balances playful experimentation with precision.
Blending warped pop, abstract electronics, and lo-fi soul, Lorings features a stellar cast of collaborators, including Flanafi, Omari Jazz, and Luke Titus. Olsen’s sound is an eclectic mix of influences, nodding to Shuggie Otis, Herbie Hancock, Raymond Scott, and Stereolab, yet always remains distinctly her own.
The tracks are compact and exploratory, rich in texture and rhythm, with a bedroom DIY charm that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Lorings offers an experimental yet accessible journey into Olsen’s uniquely crafted sonic world.
