Behind door number 5... it's just us, no tinsel, but we have loads of great new music.

Hello, Friends.

Record of the Week is Year 4, the compilation of this years output from the amazing Speedy Wunderground label. Features all the limited 7" singles from Sea Change 2019 highlights Black Country, New Road and black midiSquid who will be lighting up Sea Change 2020 plus cuts from TiñaScottibrains and Sinead O’Brien who we will be raving about plenty next year. Absolutely ALL killer, no filler. An essential purchase this one.

Austin Texan Nolan Potter and his Nightmare Band release Nightmare Forever this week on the mighty Castle Face label. Swirls of bluesy psych and a healthy dose of post D&D flute-rock that is positively soaked in analogue production. It all sounds rather like a long-lost private press from the early Seventies. We are feeling it.

On-U Sound and Lee "Scratch" Perry have been constant allies this year and we are hyped to receive Heavy Rain. A new dub companion to the critically-acclaimed Rainford album that sees the Upsetter and co-producer Adrian Sherwood radically re-version the original tapes with a host of guest musicians including Brian Eno and Vin Gordon.

+ Indie version LP is pressed on silver coloured vinyl.

As it is December now, we'll be talking about our December Record of the Month early next week.

Topping off Hyperdub's 15th year, Burial selects tracks from the last eight years of his EP releases on the label, for this very welcome two CD collection. 17 tracks across 150 minutes, all previously released, six being available on CD for the first time.

The posthumous Gang Starr album One Of The Best Yet - debuts on vinyl this week. It sure sounds like a messy ride coming into fruition, but there are some pretty special moments here.

Afraid the John Frusciante Curtains repress totally sold out. We did try and get more, but always keep an eye on our preorder section, exclusive up now from Khruangbin & Leon Bridges, Nadia Reid, Juniore, Islet and more.

Twenty-one years after its initial release, Arab Strap's second album Philophobia is reissued on vinyl via Chemikal Underground this week having been out of print for twenty years. 2LP on heavyweight vinyl in a wide-spined sleeve.

EPIC SHOUT OUT TO ALL YOU ASMR HEADS...  At last! Kinky keyboard porn! Whisper porn! Vinyl Porn! And all at the same time! And what an ASMR treat we have for you here, recordings of twelve incredible bespoke mechanical keyboards made and recorded by the master of this modern art, Taeha Types. Yes, this is actual typing sounds on amazing future / retro / cutting edge keyboards. Every track different. Every keyboard different. Listen and weep. Or sleep. Or something. A Truck records classic.

Lastly this week, Odyssey: The Sound Of Ivor Raymonde Volume II is Bella Union’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed 'Paradise: The Sound Of Ivor Raymonde'. The new compilation is a further celebration of the great British arranger, musical director, producer and songwriter Ivor Raymonde, who died at age 63 in 1990. Bella Union, the label behind both releases, is run by Ivor’s son Simon Raymonde. Some really special moments here, highly recommended.
