Bedding into September with new albums from long absent friends

Hello, Friends.

After a ten year hiatus, Doves return with their fifth studio LP The Universal Want. The headline is; it's really good. Ten tracks that slowly evolve and echo into one another, it's full of ebbs and flows with building and brooding instrumental sections that flourish into really euphoric arrangements. Doves remain masters of driving and euphoric anthems. Whether this is a return or a final transmission, it's another fine addition to their excellent discography. Our Record of the Week and one we'll be playing a lot.

+ The Indie Edition is pressed on heavyweight white vinyl.
+ Also available as a very limited Box Set Edition that is going to go pretty quick.

Captured Spirits is the fourth LP from Mammal Hands, swooping and majestic soundscapes. Saxophonist Jordan Smart, pianist Nick Smart and drummer and percussionist Jesse Barrett draw on a wide pool of Jazz timbres and create really evocative tracks that carefully evolve and unfold. Beautiful stuff.

+ Indie shop version double LP is pressed on clear vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies pressed.

The Flaming Lips return on Bella Union with American Head, their 21st studio album. They've pulled off a masterstroke here, it retains all of their bubbling psychedelics, whilst sounding more introspective or reflective than they have in years. It's a cracking set of songs and very pretty too.

+ The album is released as double 180g Heavyweight Tri-Colour Vinyl in a Gatefold Sleeve.
+ We are giving away a test press on Instagram.

 Dinked Archive

Manchester's Everything Everything return with Re–Animator. The content is dark, but the production remains bright; it's full of discombobulating dips and turns. Really quite the listen, this and it's one you'll find more in on each occasion.

+ Indies only LP is pressed on Milky White coloured vinyl. Gatefold sleeve with 12 page booklet.

Uniform return on Sacred Bones with Shame, and it is BRUTAL. Intense, dark, threatening and thrillingly experimental. If you like your music with edge, this is really quite the treat.

+ Limited Edition Smoke vinyl.

Marilyn Manson releases We Are Chaos on Loma Vista. Got a sort of dark glam stomp to it, pretty good fun, this.

+ Indie Shop Version is limited and comes pressed on white vinyl. Also includes a 24" x 24" foldout poster.

All That Emotion is A lush set of songs from Canadian Hannah Georgas, with deft production from The National’s Aaron Dessner.

Put Your Head Above The Parakeets is the second EP on Mute from HAAi. A sonic trip through textures to big beats. She really is amazing, can't rave about her enough.

Jordan Rakei and Alfa Mist go back to back on a heavyweight 7" single in the latest drop as part of the Blue Note Re:Imagined series. Only got a couple left!

Also on limited 7" is the utterly glorious return of The Go! Team with Cookie Scene. Sounds like the sun waking up and eating skittles, joyous vibes.

Also super limited (aka sold out), we had another couple of Heavenly Recordings house bag editions with Unloved and Mattiel. They promise that more things are bubbling, do not miss out!

PJ Harvey

Ahead of next months Dinked Edition, we have a re-mastered and totally reimagined pressing of Frankie & the Witch Fingers' Heavy Roller. Very limited Indie shop Blue & Bone Split colour vinyl exclusive.

Lats batch of Spoon reissues this week; with some of our favourites to include Ga Ga Ga Ga GaTransference and Gimme Fiction. We have one special Spoon slipmat left, going into the first order we get for Spoon today!

PJ Harvey's superb third studio LP To Bring You My Love gets a reissue today. It turns 25 this year and of course was one of PJ's FOUR Mercury nominations. The reissue is faithful to the original recording and package, the master was cut by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering under the guidance of longtime PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish.

Alongside the reissue, we also have the accompanying demos record. It never stops being exciting hearing her iconic songs evolve. We've said it before, we'll say it again in a few weeks... There is nobody better, what an amazing artist.

Lastly today, we have just announced that our 69th Dinked Edition is Shared Particles, the thrilling third LP from AK/DK. A drums and synth duo with incredible drive... They have also delivered one of the most wild-looking editions we've ever done. Don't sleep, can't see this one hanging around.
