Record of the Week is from an Erased Tapes institution: Rival Consoles releases his highly-anticipated new album Articulation. It is beautifully crafted, meticulously made beats that ebb and flow. Perhaps more so than ever before, there is a sort of looseness that leans more towards a kind of post-rock band set-up. Beats to lock into and drift away to, but plenty of changes of pace and lush timbres to bring you back into the room. Really thoughtful music.

James Dean Bradfield of Manic Street Preachers releases his second solo album this week. Even in Exile is a great collection of songs that loosely trace the story of the life and death of Chilean poet-singer-activist Victor Jara. His voice is in a slightly lower register than some of his Manics belters and he sounds really assured.

Whitney return with Candid, an often-surprising collection of covers, reimaginings of songs that have inspired the band. Pretty much all of them (Kelela, David Byrne, John Denver, Labi Siffre, Blaze Foley) fall outside of their musical comfort zone, but they really deliver them with warmth and a lot of charm.

Auckland-born singer-songwriter Reb Fountain marks a new chapter in her career with her first full-length release on Flying Nun Records. Man alive, her voice sounds just incredible here, really very taken with this indeed.

The Liverpool-based All We Are return on Double Six with Providence, a proper banger of a party album. Really euphoric stuff and we have a very handsome looking surf blue vinyl edition too!
Hiro Ama (the drummer with Teleman) releases his solo debut Uncertainty EP on the always essential PRAH.
Another lush set of vocals this week with Dana Gavanski returning to Full Time Hobby with her covers EP Wind Songs.
Madeline Kenney releases Sucker's Lunch on Carpark Records. Really lush production from Wye Oak's Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack. A guest appearance from Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner is a treat too.

Breathe Deep is the debut LP from Oscar Jerome, another of the leading lights of the London Jazz scene. Features contributions from members of Ezra Collective, Sons of Kemet and Maisha, alongside Lianne La Havas and Steam Down‘s Brother Portrait. Highly recommended.
Dark, intense and super atmospheric music. Essential listening for anyone interested in recorded noises. Touch and Go release a double LP of music from the film Girl on the Third Floor; "creepy instrumental music" as described by co-creator Steve Albini.

Los bros Enos are back! Roger Eno & Brain Eno release a collection of extra tracks from the 'Mixing Colours Expanded' release, with the new tracks on their own. Six new pieces along with the 'Pewter' track, previously issued only as a bonus track in Japan.

Sea Girls release their debut Open Up Your Head and we have an indies only LP on Blue vinyl. Gonna fly!
A huge 7" single on Third Man from the London powerhouses Big Joanie. We love this.
Biffy Clyro return in suitably massive form with A Celebration of Endings, of which we have a limited Blue vinyl pressing if you're quick.
Lastly, we have another of the super limited 7" singles as part of the Blue Note Re:Imagined series. Steam Down combine with Afronaut Zu to take on Wayne Shorter's Etcetera and Yazmin Lacey delivers a lush take on Dodo Greene's I’ll Never Stop Loving You. Very limited, very lush!
Strut are in excellent form with Soul Love Now, an essential deep dive compilation into the seminal spiritual jazz and conscious soul label Black Fire.
When Slowdive disbanded in 1995 music fans widely associated it with the demise of the shoegaze genre. Full of beautifully slow ambience, Pygmalion is Slowdive stripped back to a whisper, think more Talk Talk than buzzing amps, it's a real treat. Really lush 25th anniversary editions (3000 individually numbered) on clear and green marbled vinyl. We're also expecting a pinch more of the Flaming vinyl repress of Just For A Day next week, so keep an eye out for that.
"Breathing Instruments." An album focused on instruments that sound like they're breathing, curated by Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's immaculate touch. This is beautiful and inspiring stuff.
We have the long-awaited vinyl reissue of Goldfrapp's third album, Supernature. This new edition of the album is on transparent green vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with an exclusive art print of the original artwork.
Three more additions to the excellent Spoon reissues series, with Kill the Moonlight, A Series of Sneaks and Girls Can Tell all repressed. Buy any of them this week and we'll include this superb split mat.
Lastly this week and sounding AMAZING in this swampy heat... A 50th anniversary pressing of Cosmo's Factory, the iconic studio album from Creedence Clearwater Revival... America’s greatest rock and roll band! First released in 1970 at the peak of Creedence’s prolific career, this pressing has had the Half Speed Master works and sounds utterly superb.
