ROTW: Jack Peñate, Jme, Tune Yards, Graeme JD Ronald and Moomins

New Releases and Black Friday exclusives to end the week. A lot has happened, shall we recap?

Hello, Friends.

It's a bumper this Thursday. Pour a drink, take a few minutes out to have a scroll as there is a lot going on.

Jack Peñate releases his third album After You, over a decade in the making. The album was produced in collaboration with Paul Epworth, Inflo and Alex Epton and has a ton of ideas interwoven through it's ten tracks. Ballads and gospel stylings alongside little electronic flashes and some bold sidesteps. Record of the Week, well worth investing some time in.

+ Indies exclusive blue and red split vinyl.

Four years since Jme's highly acclaimed Integrity LP,  the innovative Boy Better Know CEO is back with an almighty bang on Grime MC. Only had chance to have a listen through for the first time last night, but the guest spots are great and there is a really great balance overall between the smoother cuts and the all-out bangers.

+ Limited edition gatefold double picture disc

Tune Yards release their original Score to Boots Riley’s directorial debut Sorry to Bother You. The frenetic and chopped up stylings are vivid and breakneck, but some of the more arresting moments are the ambient and organic sections, really shows off Merrill Garbus composition and sonic compositions.

Deluxe Issue 19

Another huge week for Dinked, with THREE new exclusive announcements and the arrival* of our first Archive Edition.

Running chronologically, on Tuesday we announced that we'll be working with Erased Tapes on the new Douglas Dare album, Milkteeth. A Sea Change alumnus, Douglas sounds incredible on this new LP, we'll be looking to set up a playback party at the shop.

Wednesday was about young Jazz auteur Moses Boyd with his new Dark Matter LP. We're working on an amazing looking wraparound flag sleeve, utterly nuts and the album is pure fire too.

This morning was part three for the week with much-hyped Parisian popsters Juniore and their Un Deux Trois. 1960s French pop, hazy psychedelia, seamless pop, surf grooves and lush orchestration... this is cool a.f. and we're so hyped to be getting onto this one early.

You might well have noticed that both Douglas Dare and Moses Boyd sold out this week, we have now added the final stock so have at it and don't miss out!

* So lastly, Archive Number One... only it's not here yet! Our beautiful screen printed editions of The Low Anthem's Oh My God, Charlie Darwin are still drying... so release is going to be Monday and we'll start shipping them ASAP. Again, the last few copies are online now.

Black Friday

Graeme JD Ronald releases Danielle on Rock Action, his first new music in five years, and the first to be released under his own name since his band Remember Remember went on hiatus. Very beautiful music this, the soundtrack to the documentary of the same name.

The Stereolab reissue series continues with new pressings of Sound Dust and Margerine Eclipse. As with the rest of the series, they have been lovingly remastered from original tapes and feature a ton of bonus content. We adore this band.

Shhhhhh.... We just put a couple of clear vinyl copies of each in stock online...

We have some limited colour pressings of the Fleetwood Mac studio output from 1975 to 1987, with Rumours, Tusk, Mirage and Tango In The Night all on the shelf this week.

You always need more Moomins in your life... This week is all about the special Winter Wunderland edition of the classic Finders Keepers release, Graeme Miller and Steve Shill's beautiful woozy original music. Limited to just 500 copies so don't snooze. We're afraid the Woodland Band & Parade 7" did sell out... We tried to warn you!

Lastly, tomorrow is BLACK FRIDAY and we'll be carrying a handful of exclusive releases as part of Record Store Day Black Friday. They will be available in the shop from 9.30am on the day, first come, first served. We'll make them live to buy on the website that night at midnight, again, first come first served. They are all listed here.
