ROTW: Selling, Mark Leckey, Neil Young, Super Furry Animals and a repress of The Clangers!

Carol services, the nativity play, work's do, being forced to wear a jumper... we have a handful of new releases that will rid you of all this horror.

Hello, Friends.

In the real world, it is December and we have a Record of the Month to celebrate. On Reflection is the debut album from Selling, an utterly brilliant collaborative effort from Gold Panda and Jas Shaw, one-half of techno titans Simian Mobile Disco. It is genuinely the product of their collaborative creative strengths, it beautifully flows between some quite propulsive electronic music to sections of ambient and ethereal textures. We like these guys a lot, but we have been really bowled over by how exciting and utterly pretty this album is.

+ Available on very limited edition blue vinyl.

Limited to just 500 copies on 10" vinyl via Warp, Turner-winning artist Mark Leckey releases Exorcism of the Bridge@Eastham Rake, exploring refracted memories and suburban mythology. His work has frequently incorporated elements of remixing and sampling, as Leckey describes it, "a kind of ritual chant made modern". The track comes backed by a remix from Evian Christ, who drags it onto the dance floor of one his vaunted and chaotic Trance Parties. When they are gone, they are gone.

More gold from the Neil Young vaults. Songs For Judy is a thoroughly dreamy collection of live acoustic performances culled from Neil's November 1976 solo tour and features twenty-two songs recorded at various cities along the tour. It's all circa After the Gold Rush, Harvest, On the Beach and Tonight's the Night. Hoping for more, but we've hardly got any of these so do get involved.

Super Furry Animals

YASSSS!!!! Super Furry Animals release a compilation of their radio sessions (eight of them for John Peel and Mark Radcliffe) recorded at the BBC. Available as a four-part 180 Gram vinyl box set and double CD featuring Mark James' Yeti artwork throughout plus two new illustrations by Pete Fowler.

+ Both CD and LP are limited to 500 Copies.

We have an Anniversary Edition of The Beta Band's Heroes To Zeros this week, their final studio LP. Follows the essential reissues of Three EP's, Hot Shots II and the self-titled album, all amazing, one of the very finest bands of our lifetime.

+ We have a very limited purple vinyl pressing if you're quick.

Traveling On is the next iteration of The Decemberists B-sides series, a tradition that began in 2005 and serves as a follow up to 'Florasongs' and 'Long Live the King'. It’s comprised of five B-sides related to their last album I'll Be Your Girl.

More of the most excellent Teenage Fanclub reissues with Shadows and Man-Made getting fresh editions (both including bonus 7" singes).

We have a great pressing of Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique in, been reading about it loads and it's been right good to belt this out in the shop.

We know that loads of you have been waiting for A VERY LONG TIME, but we're delighted to finally have Coil presents Black Light District - A Thousand Lights In A Darkened Room in on very limited black and very limited yellow vinyl editions. We got all we could and they will not last, so please do get involved on this one early.

Clangers

Light in the Attic have made Jim Ford's iconic Harland County available once more, including this super limited (blue) colour vinyl pressing. The album was recorded at the legendary Wally Heider Los Angeles studios and features heavy session players Dr. John, Jim Keltner (John Lennon), and James Burton (Elvis Presley). The release is bundled with a 32-page booklet and is pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl, lovingly re-mastered from the original master tapes and comes housed in a deluxe Stoughton board “Tip-On” old school sleeve with faithfully reproduced original artwork. If you've never heard this, you are in for a real trip!

Music on Vinyl have reissued a numbered edition of Death In Vegas' utterly fantastic Scorpio Rising LP. 2500 individually numbered copies on red vinyl, with just 600 available for the UK. Features guest vocalists Liam Gallagher, Hope Sandoval, Nicola Kuperus, and Paul Weller, all of them sounding perhaps the best they ever have.

Last one today and it's a joy! Out of print since 2001, Trunk issue a very rare repress of Vernon Elliott's Clangers Original Television Music. It was all recorded in a village hall in Kent in the late 1960s and is the most deliciously naïve and pastoral space music, utterly timeless.
